Objective:To investigate the prevalence of elevated fasting glucose in senior engineers in service of Magang and to explore risk factors of elevated fasting glucose related.Methods:To calculate the prevalence of elevated fasting glucose by analysis physical examination data in 2006,and evaluate the risk factors for elevated fasting glucose by stepwise multiple regression.Results:The prevalence of diabetes mellitus was 6.6%,The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose based on 2003 ADA criteria was 40.2%.With fasting glucose elevating,blood pressure,serum uric,serum creatinine,total cholesterol et al were significant increased.The independent risk predictors for fasting glucose level were HOMA-IR,fasting insulin levels,age,serum creatinine and systolic blood pressure by multiple stepwise regression.Conclusions:Magang senior engineers were higher risk population for diabetes mellitus.The lower fasting glucose levels,the fewer the accumulation of components of metabolic syndrome.
