ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of bronchoalveolar lavage in the treatment of inhalation injury.MethodsAccording to whether using the bronchoalveolar lavage,40 cases of burn with moderate to severe inhalation injury from January 2012 to January 2014 in our hospital were divided into treatment group and control group with 20 cases in each group. The healing time of airway mucosa, incidence rate of lung infection, the positive rate of sputum culture and the survival rate were retrospectively compared and analyzed.ResultsIn the treatment group, the average healing time of airway mucosa was 28 days, there were 5 cases with lung infection,5 cases with positive sputum culture,19 survival cases; In the control group, the average healing time was 35 days, lung infection occurred in 10 cases, there were 10 cases with positive sputum culture,15 survival cases.ConclusionFor the patients of burn with moderate to severe inhalation injury, bronchoalveolar lavage technique can significantly improve the healing time of the airway mucosa, reduce the incidence rate of pulmonary infection and positive sputum culture, and increase the survival rate.Key Words:Burns;Inhalation injury;Bronchoalveolar lavage;Fiberoptic bronchoscopy
