Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of low-dose dexmedetomidine combined with etomidate on tracheal intubation reaction of elderly patients in plateau region. Method The elderly patients with elective surgery under general anesthesia in plateau region were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, dexmedetomidine were induced in observation group and midazolam were injected in control group. . The heart rate and blood pressure were record in T0、T1、T2、T3, and the adverse reactions were record in both groups. Results There was significant difference between the two groups at T1 and T0（P＜0.05）. There was no significant difference between the two groups（P＞0.05）. the index at T2 and T3 in the two groups were significantly higher than at T1, which in control group was significantly higher than observation group, the difference was statistically significant（P＜0.05）; The incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups was statistically significant（P＜0.05）. Conclusion Low-dose dexmedetomidine combined with etomidate can effectively inhibit tracheal intubation reaction of elderly patients in plateau region and increase induce and tracheal intubation safety.
