Abstract:Objective To discuss the clinical application of the central venous catheter specialized for drainage of pleural effusion due to acute pancreatitis. Methods A retrospective analysis was used to investigate the clinical data of 37 patients with pleural effusion due to acute pancreatitis after central venous catheter drainage treatment from January 2014 to January 2017 in our hospital. The curative effect, and compare the white blood cells, C-response protein, APACHE II score and hemoglobin oxygen saturation between before drainage and after 2 days drainage were observed. Results All patients with drainage got central venous catheter successfully inserted without operation complications. The level of the white blood cells, C-response protein, APACHE II score and hemoglobin oxygen saturation were significantly improved after the drainage in patients, and the difference was significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The central venous catheter drainage is a safe, effective and minimal invasive treatment of pleural effusion due to acute pancreatitis, which is helpful of acute pancreatitis.
