Abstract:Objective To explore efficacy and safety of transurethral 1470 nm laser vaporization and transurethral resection in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH). Methods 110 cases of BPH in our hospital from Aug. 2015 to Aug. 2017 were divided into the laser group and TURP group, 60 cases in the laser group were treated with 1470 nm laser and 50 cases in TURP group were underwent transurethral resection. The efficacy and safety were compared in two groups. Results The Qmax, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative bladder washing time, international prostate symptom score (IPSS), indwelling catheter time of the laser group were better than that of the TURP group, and the difference were statistically significant(all P<0.05). Conclusion Transurethral 1470 nm laser vaporization for the BPH is superior to TURP, which can effectively improve the symptoms of lower urinary tract obstruction of BPH and benefit patients.
