Abstract:Objective To study the clinical effect and its potential mechanisms of action of Danggui Yinzi in treating chronic eczema of blood deficiency and wind dryness type. Methods A total of 72 patients with chronic eczema of the blood-deficiency and wind-dryness type, treated at our hospital from January 2020 to December 2021, were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 36 patients in each. Both groups were treated with topically applied Zicao ointment. The observation group received oral Danggui Yinzi, while the control group was given oral Ebastine. The efficacy and related indicators such as serum cytokines were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes and levels of serum cytokines including interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-10 (IL-10), leukotriene B4 (LTB4), and Substance P (SP) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group. The level of interferon-gamma (INF-γ) was higher in the observation group. The differences were statistically significant (t=12.263, 11.907, 9.529, 57.160, 9.256, 10.835, 17.461, 2.488, 2.096, all P<0.05). The recurrence rate of eczema was lower in the observation group, with a statistically significant difference (χ2=18.935, P<0.05). Conclusion Danggui Yinzi can regulate the relevant cytokines in the body, improve the immune status and clinical symptoms of patients with chronic eczema of blood deficiency and wind dryness, and reduce the recurrence rate and severity of eczema.
